Enhance Awareness to trim our expectations

A. Non-Routine Activities: Breaking Old Patterns

The Lower Mind strengthens through repetition—repeating the same reactions, habits, and emotional loops.

Non-routine activities disrupt these patterns and awaken awareness.

When you try something new, even in small ways, the mind steps out of autopilot and becomes more present.

Methods

There are two ways of trimming our expectations : A. Non-routine activities & B. Meditation

Having involved in non-routine activities, now we have come to a stage in which we should observe to what extent the non-routine activities have created a change in our mind.

Simple Non-Routine Activities:

• Walk a different route
• Learn a new skill
• Create something
• Sit quietly in nature
• Read beyond your usual interests
• Listen to unfamiliar music
• Visit Human Care & Support Centres
• Visit peaceful spiritual spaces

These fresh experiences soften old conditioning and open the door to inner growth.

B. Meditation

To understand the changes caused by non-routine activities, we sit in a quiet place and observe the cycle of expectations within our minds. This act of watching our thoughts is known as meditation.

The Process:

1. Begin by observing any object within the surroundings.

2. Slowly move the gaze from the top of the object to the bottom, without letting any thoughts in.

3. Now observe the same object from the left side to the right side.

4. While doing this, notice the object’s colour, shape, texture, and overall profile, without analysing or going into details.

5. Shift the attention to another nearby object and repeat the same steps as above.

6. During this practice, if any thoughts appear, try to recall them. If possible, write them down on paper or in a notebook.

7. By continuing the practice further, more thoughts may begin to cross the mind.

8. Note down all such thoughts and get ready for the next stage of trimming these thoughts.

Trimming of Thoughts

Technique No: 1
IGNORE — Thoughts That Don’t Deserve Your Energy
Our mind can ignore these thoughts. Our SELF should decide not to imbibe these unwarranted thoughts.
Technique No: 2
NEGOTIATE — Thoughts That Need Understanding, Not Action

Thoughts such as fear, insecurity, old habits, or desire are neither right nor wrong—only to be observed, understood, and balanced.

In these moments, the Self gently guides the Lower Mind, creating clarity and restoring inner wisdom.

Technique No: 3
BLOCK — Thoughts That Are Harmful
Sometimes the SELF cannot Ignore or Negotiate certain thoughts.

When this happens, the SELF must reject the influence of the Lower Mind and block those incoming thoughts completely.

We only need to pay attention to thoughts that disturb our inner peace.

The rest can be gently left aside.

Expansion of Consciousness

This is why we have come into this world:
to learn, to practice, and to grow through these inner techniques.

Though these methods may appear simple, applying them in real life often requires proper guidance.

We are here to offer that guidance.

Any thought that disrupts our Peace, Harmony, or Happiness arises because the mind is demanding a result.

These disruptive thoughts must be trimmed with the method called I–N–B:

Ignore – Negotiate – Block.

The more we trim unwanted thoughts, the more our Consciousness expands.

As Consciousness expands, Awareness deepens — and with it..

Peace, Harmony, and Happiness naturally arise.
